Whitetail Woods Regional Park ~ 17100 Station Trail, Farmington
Thanks to Melissa for sharing her review and photos of this week's featured park. I can't wait to check this one out!

I am in love! I brought both boys, (who were wanting to play basketball) to a park with no playground and it kept them busier than any other park I have ever been to. Yes, no playground!! It is a nature park and it is amazing. You can also hike, grill, go on long trails and sleep there! I have yet to see the sleeper cabins but they are brand new and can only imagine how fun that would be.

The nature park has a really cool sand and water feature that my boys are now obsessed with. At the top there is a circle of sand with pumps that you can use to make water flow. Once water comes out it forms a river that flows down into another sand pit area. There were pans, shovels, rakes, twigs- everything already there to play in the sand but my boys primarily dug into it with their hands and feet.
Surrounding the sand feature are huge rocks to climb, huge logs to sit on instead of benches and open circular concrete areas with awesome quotes on them.

Down the hill there are tepees built of sticks and really neat sculptures hanging from the trees made of natural materials. We didn't even have a chance to play down there yet! I will no doubt be going back. I felt like we had a mini vacation it was so peaceful. I am so happy my boys could play in nature and keep so engaged and busy!

Melissa's Tip: It was a little confusing when you pull in, but once you park there is a map and it shows that the park is right in front of you!
