Park & Playground Review: King Park, Lakeville

King Park is located on Dodd right across from Lifetime Fitness. The actual park is pretty new and is surrounded by baseball fields and batting cages. Most of the time when we drive by we are in a hurry to get somewhere or we happen to be passing when baseball games are in full force. We visited this park for the first time on a weekday and we had the place to ourselves!

I haven't really seen any playground equipment like this before - everything is new and unique. You can use equipment that mimics a zip line, a rocking boat, an igloo and spider web. There is also a four-person teeter totter, all types of swings and baseball diamonds all around to watch when games are in play.

There is a picnic table next to the park but otherwise only one bench. Either be ready to stand and play with your kiddos or I'm sure the park is also popular for older kids sent to play during baseball games. The park has a sign that says the equipment is meant for ages five to twelve but my two year old had a great time and no trouble doing anything. There is adaptive equipment available including one zip line station and swings.

The flooring is soft rubber and feels like a pillow to walk on - no sand or wood chip mess! The whole park is in the open so no available shade so be sure to put on sunscreen if you plan to play awhile. I have never seen any playground equipment like it! We will have to take the time to stop again!
