Park & Playground Review: Rich Valley Park, Inver Grove Heights

By Lori Wondra, Publisher Mom June 11, 2015
Rich Valley Park ~ 1841 105th St. E, Inver Grove Heights
This park is in Inver Grove Heights but as my boys' favorite park for two years running, I had to include it in our series of park reviews! We live in Eagan and it's a short 5 minute drive from our house.

Rich Valley Park is actually a large athletic complex with six softball fields (four lit), three grass baseball fields and four non-lit soccer fields. Evenings tend to be full of game and tournament excitement. We've only ever been to the park in the daytime or very early evening hours and have always found it free from crowds. The playground area is large, though, and I'm sure accommodates lots of fun no matter the number of kids at play.

A posting states the park is designed for children ages 5-12 but my 2 1/2 year-old and nearly 5 year-old have enjoyed it for quite some time. The main play structure is quite tall, but has minimal openings to the ground. The smaller toddler play structure is suited to both crawlers and early walkers. There are numerous slides, swings and bouncy riders. In addition the park grounds offer benches, a covered picnic area and walking trails.

If you decide to check this park out, you may just see us there! We were there this week and I was reminded just how great a fit it is for us!
