Local Halloween Events

Fun for the whole family!

There are many events going on in our area for Halloween. If you have not yet made your plans, here is a list of local events that might interest you. A few additional gems are noted that require a short drive.

Burnsville:

Trunk or Treat at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church & School~ October 29, 3 - 6 PM ~ Families are invited to go trunk or treating in the parking lot of Good Shepherd. Trick-or-treat and then Inside there are additional games, treats, prizes, food and more. All area children are invited and family-friendly costumes are encouraged. 


Burnsville Halloween Fest @ Nicollet Commons Park ~ Oct 28, 6-8pm ~ Ghosts, goblins, princesses and superheroes of all ages flock to Nicollet Commons Park each October. The festival includes an illuminated treat trail, music, activities and more. $5.00/family. Families are encouraged to attend in costume. Parking is available at the Ames Center parking deck or the Heart of the City parking ramp. 

Movies for Kids: Just a Little Scary @ Burnsville (Burnhaven) Library ~ Wednesday, October 26th, 10:15-10:45 AM, Get in the Halloween spirit with Creepy Carrots, Leonardo the Terrible Monster, and A Very Brave Witch — movies that add just a touch of suspense. Ages: 2–6.

Halloween Special @ the Burnsville (Burnhaven) Library ~Saturday, October 31, 10:30-11:15 AM, Get moving during this active program that celebrates fall with funny Halloween stories —without the scares. Presented by the Story Man from England. Ages 2-8.

Annual Halloween Skating Party @ Burnsville Ice Center ~ Sunday, October 30, 12:00-1:30 PM Burnsville Ice Center’s free Halloween Skate will feature trick-or-treating, prize drawings, discounted skate rentals and private lessons for new skaters. FREE admission and open to the public Discounted skate rental: $3

Eagan:

Halloween HodgePodge @ the Eagan Community Center ~ Sunday, October 30, 3 - 7 PM ~ tickets may be purchased ahead of time at the Eagan Community Center or Eagan Parks & Rec for $5 per child with a food donation or for $6 per child with a food donation at the door. Each year children ages 18 months to 12 years old celebrate Halloween in the safe indoor environment of the Eagan Community Center. 

Halloween at the Art Park, Caponi Art Park ~ Saturday, October 29, 1 - 6 PM ~ Take a trick or treat tour of the spooky sculptures at the park with a costumed guide and make a Halloween craft. Admission to the program is free with a $5 suggested donation.

Kowalski's Boo Bash, Kowalski's Market, Eagan ~ Tuesday, October 25, 4-7 pm ~ Come in costume and visit various stations around the market for fun treats.

Halloween Dance Party @ the Eagan (Wescott) Library ~ Monday, October 31st, 10:30-11:00 am, 
Join us for some dancing on Halloween! Costumes are optional. The dance party will be followed by some trick or treating upstairs. Ages 0-6

Farmington:

All Hallow’s Eve @ Dakota City Heritage Village~October 21-22 from 1-8 pm, Tractor-pulled trolleys will transport you back to 1900. You can see the first Frankenstein silent movie, visit a cemetery, learn about old burial customs and so muchmore. Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for ages 4-12

Lakeville:

Haunted Forest 
@ Michaud Park in LakevilleOct. 22, 5:30 - 8:00 pm.Come to a trick-or-treat maze, haunted forest trail and award-winning puppeteers are sure to make your evening spook-tacular. $10 per carload or $3 per person plus a non-perishable food donation.

Minneapolis:

Trail of Terror @ the Renaissance Festival Location in Shakopee ~Friday - Sunday now- October 31st, 2015, Friday & Saturdays from 7pm to 12:30am and Sundays 7pm to 11:00pm, General Admission - $25.00, Advanced General Admission - $20.00 .

Rosemount:

Haunted Woods Trail @ Central Park in Rosemount ~ Saturday, October 29, 6:00-8:00 pm, This year’s celebration will provide a fun-filled evening for preschool through middle-school aged youth. The trail will begin at the Park & Ride parking lot on Highway 3 (South Robert Trail), wind its way through Central Park, and exit on 145th Street West. Area volunteers will pass out candy; donations will be accepted at the trail entrance. Be sure to wear your Halloween costume and dress appropriately for the weather. No pets allowed on the trail.

Trunk or Treat at Community of Hope Church ~ Saturday, October 31, 4:30-6:30 pm, Rain or Shine. Candy, Games, Jumpers, Hay Ride & more!*Candy Donations can be dropped off in the bins by the Information Desk.

St. Paul:

Boo-ology at the Science Museum of Minnesota ~ Saturday, October 29, 12 - 4 PM ~Tricks and treats galore. It’s not scary, it’s science! Creep on in for lots of spooky hands-on science activities and events. Kids under 12 in costume get free museum admission, too.

Gouls & Giggles @ the Ar-BOO-retum! ~ Sunday, October 23, 1-4 PM, $10 per child up to age 12, Children 3 and under free, Adults free with gate admission. Location - Sensory Garden Pavilion & Parking Lot, Get in the Halloween spirit by joining us for this family-friendly spooky experience! Come dressed in your Halloween costume and enjoy kid's activities, concessions, live music with the Bazillions, and a trick-or-treat parade at 3 p.m. Fee covers cost for all activities except Paint-A-Pumpkin ($5 per pumpkin) and concessions.

Zoo Boo @ Como Zoo ~ October 22, 23; and October 29 & 30. Zoo Boo is a non-scary Halloween festival for families and young children. For this unique fall event, the grounds of Como Zoo transform into a world of fairytales and fun! Highlights include trick-or-treating at approximately ten Treat Stations, Live Entertainment, Pumpkin Bowling, Craft Activities, 200 Costumed characters and lots of surprises. Gates open @ 4:30 - 7:30 pm. Cost $6.00-$7.00

Wheel Fun Rentals Pumpkin Patch @ Como Park ~ Open now Saturdays and Sundays: 10:00 am - Sunset through Halloween. Located at Como Park. Fun rides, games, pumpkins, food and more await your group! The pumpkin patch is the perfect autumn family activity! Visit website for specifics on pricing.
