Local Halloween Events

There are many events going on in our area for Halloween. If you have not yet made your plans, here is a list of local events that might interest you. A few additional gems are noted that require a short drive.

Farmington:

Halloween Skate at Schmitz-Maki Arena, 114 West Spruce Street, Farmington ~ Friday, October 30, 7-8:30 PM ~ all ages welcome ~ Free with feed shelf donation ~ Join us for a “spooktacular good time” Prizes, games and costume contest

Halloween Walk at Dodge Middle School ~ Friday, October 30, 5:30 -7 PM ~ Free, food shelf donations will be accepted ~ dress in your costume and join us for the popular Halloween walk.  Bring your trick or treat bag, safe candy will be handed out.

Halloween With Schiffley Puppets at the Farmington Library ~ Friday, October 30, 10:30-11:00 AM 
Celebrate Halloween and join in on the fun and humor as you take a wild and crazy trip into Neverland with this action-packed take on J.M. Barrie's classic "Peter Pan." Wear your costume and go trick or treating for stickers and more before and after the performance. Ages: 2-10.

Harvest Moon Festival @ Dakota City Heritage Village ~ October 16-17, 10:00-4:00 PM, All ages,  Come and see what was taking place in the 1900's with a visit to Dakota City during the Harvest Moon Festival! So many fun activities, food & drink,  Cost: 
$6.00 - 13 and up,n$3.00 - 4 thru 12, Free - 3 and under

Lakeville:

Haunted Forest Festival ~Steve Michaud Park, 17100 Ipava Ave, Lakeville ~ Saturday, October 24, 5:30 - 8:30PM ~ A puppet show, face painting, hayrides and more are planned ~ $10 per carload, nonperishable food items accepted.

Trick or Treating in Downtown Lakeville ~Holyoke Avenue ~ Saturday, October 24, 2 – 4PM ~ Free Halloween event with kiddy costume contest and parade; pumpkin decorating; trick or treating at retail stores and Hermey the Clown.

 Halloween Storytime @ Lakeville (Heritage Library) ~ Wednesday, October 28, 10:30 - 11:00 AM and 11:30 - 12:00 PM, Wear your Halloween costume and join us for a not-so-spooky Halloween program. Ages 0-6

Apple Valley
:

HallZOOween at MN Zoo ~ October 24 & 25 & October 30 & 31, 10AM - 4PM ~ free with zoo admission ~ Dress up as your favorite Zoo animal or other creature of choice and get ready for a fun day of crafts, critters, and treats! Even the animals will enjoy some pumpkin action.  

Halloween with MacPhail Music @ Apple Valley (Galaxie) Library ~ Friday, October 30, 10:30 - 11:15 
Have fun making music together as MacPhail musicians sing and play instruments in our atrium. Wear your costume and go trick or treating for stickers and more before and after the performance. Bring a small bag for carrying your treats! Presented by MacPhail 

Eagan:

Halloween HodgePodge, Eagan Community Center ~ Sunday, October 25, 3 - 7 PM ~ tickets may be purchased ahead of time at the Eagan Community Center or Eagan Parks & Rec for $5 per child with a food donation or for $6 per child with a food donation at the door. Event includes carnival games, arts and crafts, face painting, family dance, trick or treating and much more.

Halloween at the Art Park, Caponi Art Park ~ Saturday, October 24, 1 - 4 PM ~ Take a trick or treat tour of the spooky sculpures at the park with a costumed guide and make a Halloween craft. Admission to the program is free with a $5 suggested donation.

Kowalski's Boo Bash, Kowalski's Market, Eagan ~ Tuesday, October 27, 4-7pm ~ Come in costume and visit various stations around the market for fun treats.  

Halloween Movies for Kids @ the Eagan (Wescott) Library ~ Tuesday, October 27th,  10:30-11:15am, 
Enjoy fun children's books about Halloween in movie format. Ages: 2-6

Halloween Storytime for all ages @ Eagan (Wescott) Library ~ Friday, October 30, 10:30-11:15 am, Wear your Halloween costume and join us for a not-so-spooky Halloween program.

Trick or Treating at Eagan Premium Outlets ~ Saturday, October 31st, 3pm-7pm. Come in costume for trick or treating fun. First 200 kids will receive a special Halloween Bag from Guest Services in Market Hall.

St. Paul:

Boo-ology at the Science Museum of Minnesota ~ Saturday, October 31, 12 - 4 PM ~ Children 12 and under and in costume will receive free admission to permanent galleries and have a chance to join in a variety of spooky hands-on science activities with a Halloween spin. 

Gouls & Giggles @ the Ar-BOO-retum!  ~ Saturday, October 24, 3:00 -6:00 PM,  $5 per child up to age 12, Adults free with gate admission. Fun for everyone! Costumed Trick or Treats, kids craft activity, & Music with theTeddy Bear band.

Zoo Boo @ Como Zoo ~ October 17th, 18th; and October 24th – 25th.  Gates Open: 4:30-7:30 p.m., Advance tickets: $6.00, 
Tickets at the Gate: $7.00 Como Zoo will be transformed for the trick or treaters.

Wheel Fun Rentals Pumpkin Patch @ Como Park ~ Open now Saturdays and Sundays: 10:00 am - Sunset through Halloween. Located at Como Park. Fun rides, games, pumpkins, food and more await your group! The pumpkin patch is the perfect autumn family activity!  Visit website for specifics on pricing.
 
Minneapolis:

Trail of Terror @ the Renaissance Festival Location in Shakopee ~Friday - Sunday October 9th - October 31st, 2015, Friday & Saturdays from 7pm to 12:30am and Sundays 7pm to 11:00pm, General Admission $19.95; Advance and online $16.95

Family Night Out: Trick-ART-Treat @ Minneapolis Institute of Arts ~  October 30, 6:00 - 8:00 PM ~ Come in costume (without a full mask or hood, please) The MIA is proud to offer your family a safe, art-focused, family-friendly way to spend your Halloween. Come enjoy snacks and cider, art-making and a Halloween Gallery Hunt.

World’s Largest Indoor Trick or Treat (Howl-o-Ween at the Mall of America) ~ October 31, 4:30 - 7:30PM ~ fly over to Southeast Court or Nordstrom Court to pick up your treat bag to go trick-or-treating at participating stores in the Mall.
