"Paddington" Day at the Movies with Grammy

We had been patiently counting down the days and finally last Friday, was the opening day of "Paddington" (an adaptation from Michael Bond's Paddington novels. We brought our bucket for popcorn and off we went. The kids had been seeing commercials and were so excited to finally see it.
The movie begins with a deadly earthquake that destroys Paddington's home in the Peruvian rain forest. He then finds his way to England with a tag around his neck, "Please look after this Bear, Thank You!" He is taken in by a kind family who falls in love with this bear. Of course a taxidermist has her eyes on Paddington and drama ensues as Paddington journeys on to find his real family members.
The boys and I loved the movie. There was lots of excitement as Paddington found ways to get himself into innocent trouble. The boys were upset that the father that allows Paddington to live with them was crabby and not very welcoming to Paddington. They voiced their opinions that he wasn't very nice. As the movie went on the poor dad redeemed himself in the eyes of my boys. At one point the 5 year old said that it was a long movie. I asked him if he wanted to go home and he said, "NO, I love it!" The 3 year old sat through the entire movie munching on his popcorn.
There was only one drama on our trip to the movie. The 3 year old brought a little bag of his blanket and a toy. He never opened it up during the show but when we got home the blanket was missing. Arggggg! We headed back to check and thankfully it was in the lost and found. When Jordan saw his blanket he had a huge smile on his face and said, " BB (his name for his blanket), "I have missed you forever!!!!" I was SO thankful that it was found. Pretty hard to replace a well LOVED bb! I think his 5 year old brother was as concerned for him and gave both he and the blanket a hug when it was found!

Have a great time if you go to the Paddington movie!
