I hope everyone had a great week! I like it that we have nicer weather to be able to bundle the kids up and go outdoors! If you aren't doing anything this week-end there are fun family Winter Carnival Activities for the entire family along with many other fun activities on our calendar for you and your family.

This week I will be watching the Minnesota Gopher Women's hockey play St. Cloud State in St. Cloud. My daughter is a senior and so this will be our last year heading there to watch her. We have had so many fun memories in St. Cloud over the years and hope to add more to them this week-end. Go Gophers!

I have to share a cute kid story for you. My little grandson got sick at my house this week and my daughter came to pick him up. I told her over the phone what the symptoms were and that he looked "white as a ghost". You know that sick pallid look?
Well later that day my daughter told him that his color in his face looked better and she was glad he was feeling better. His comment to her was, "So, I am not a white ghost anymore?" Oh my gosh, I felt so bad. All day the little guy thought that he was a ghost! My daughter calmed him down by telling him that he was definitely not a ghost and that gramma was only using it to describe that you could see that he wasn't feeling good. It was a good reminder that similes as a figure of speech is a great way to describe something but be careful because you may be taken seriously! Aren't kids just the greatest. I will report that he is no longer "white as a ghost" but his cheeks are "red as a rose". He would not want to hear that....LOL
