You’ve heard the guidelines, you’ve read the research: children aged 5 to 17 should accumulate at least 60 minutes of physical activity a day; screen time and sedentary behavior are the enemies of the healthy child.

You know the benefits of physical activity for kids:
- healthy bones, muscles, joints, hearts, and lungs
- improved neuromuscular coordination
- reduced anxiety and depression
- improved academic performance
- healthy body weight – the list goes on.

But we live in Minnesota and Winter Break is upon us!  How can we assure our children their daily dose of physical fun when it’s below zero outside and school is closed for the week? Family Swim School has just the thing!  The energetic and friendly folks at Family Swim School are offering a series of half-day Winter H2O Camps at their warm-water Lakeville location!  Each day will have a theme and will include a 30-minute swimming lesson, 90 minutes of log rolling, water polo, free swim, and other water games, and some time to do theme-related crafts.  We’ll even have a quiet reading corner with books relating to the day’s theme, if your kids need a little quiet time to rest from the day’s activities.

Camp runs from 9am to 1pm for kids aged 6 to 12.  Camp themes are: Treasure Hunters (December , Hawaiian Luau (December 30), Olympics (December 31), and Superheroes (January 2).

Single days are $40 and the Winter 4-day pack is $140.
