Valentine's Day Sugar Cookies

Fun to Make with the Kids

Sugar Cookie Ingredients:


1 1/3 c. of butter (softened)

1 1/2 c. sugar

2 tsp. vanilla

2 eggs

4 tsp. milk

4 c. flour

2 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. salt

Heart cookie cutter


Directions:


1. In a large mixing bowl cream the butter, sugar, and vanilla. Add the eggs and the milk and mix until fluffy.

2. In a separate bowl combine the flour, baking powder and salt.

3. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the ingredients in step one. Mix well.

4. Refrigerate for a half of an hour

5. Roll dough out on a floured surface and cut out the shapes with the heart cookie cutter. 

6. Place cut out cookies on a cookie sheet and bake @ 375 degrees until slightly browned.

7. Remove and cool.


Cream Cheese Frosting Ingredients:


8 oz. cream cheese (softened)

1/2 c. butter (softened)

2 tsp. vanilla extract

4 c. confectioner's sugar

Red Food Coloring (if desired)

sprinkles (if desired)


Directions:

1. Combine the cream cheese, butter, and vanilla extract.

2. Slowly add the confectioner's sugar and beat until smooth.

3. Add a very small dab of red food coloring (to make pink) and mix well.

4. Frost the cookies

5. Decorate with sprinkles as desired.

6. Enjoy!
