Apple-Tasting Weekend
Oct. 10 & 11. Help our scientists by taste-testing U of M research apples and rating your favorites for flavor, size, texture and more.  1-3 p.m.   Oswald Visitor Center.    


Plant-Maker's Studio – Fall Colors Ablaze
Saturdays & Sundays, through Oct. 31. Noon-4 pm.  Explore the beauty of fall leaf color with art & science activities. Pound the pigment from leaves; create a fall flag. Learning Center. Free with gate.

Scarecrow Village
Sept. 18 – Oct. 31. View whimsical scarecrows – and a pumpkin house – created by Bachman's designers and Arboretum staff. Margot Picnic Shelter area, plus Visitor Center and Snyder Building terraces.


Ghouls & Giggles Event
Saturday, Oct. 24. Enjoy a not-so-scary Halloween trail, games, music & more at this family event. Time: 3-6 p.m. $5 per child.      
             


All About Dogs Day
Sunday, Oct. 25. 10 a.m.-2 p.m.  Bring your favorite pooch for a fun morning at the Arb with a dog walk, Pet Expo & more. Portion of the proceeds benefits the Arboretum's Nature-Based Therapeutics program.  $20-$35. Registration:  www.arboretum.umn.edu/dogday.aspx or call 612-301-1210.

Spooktacular Concert
Sunday, Oct. 25. 3-4:30 p.m., MacMillan Auditorium. A concert of Halloween favorites, performed by the Minnetonka Symphony Orchestra. Free with gate admission.

Ar-BOO-Retum
Friday, Oct. 30.  All day.  Free admission for everyone arriving in costume. Free cookie in Café for kids!  Trick or treat for apples at Gift Store between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.!

Witch Hazel Hustle 5K
Saturday, Oct. 31.  8 a.m.-1 p.m. An invigorating run on Three-Mile Drive. $30 pre-registration; $35 race day. Prizes & medals. Costumes encouraged.  Check-in at 7 a.m.; race at 8 a.m.


Walks with Matt
Saturday, Nov. 7 or Dec. 12, 10 a.m.-noon.Join naturalist Matt Schuth, as he describes seasonal highlights in the Arboretum landscape. Meet at the Ordway Parking Lot.  $12 member/$25 non-member.

                                             


The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, the largest public garden in the Upper Midwest and a premier northern arboretum, is part of the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences at the University of Minnesota and developed as a community and national resource for horticultural and environmental information, research, and public education. It is located 9 miles west of I-494 on Highway 5 in Chanhassen. Admission is $12 for ages 13 & up; free for ages 12 & younger.  Open 363 days a year.
